SCR was founded over 28 years ago, and has experienced the growth of Northwest Florida first hand having been a part of much of the exciting expansion that has taken place. Along with the changes in the area, we too have expanded and undergone name changes to reflect that growth. From Rutherford Surveying, Inc to SCR Surveying & Mapping, Inc to SCR & Associates NWFL, Inc, the name has changed but the core of the company never has.

Skip Rutherford brings over 41 years of surveying experience to the firm. He was the founder and is current president. He began the business in a 100 year old wood frame house, and brought it from there to our current modern facility, which we designed, engineered and surveyed. Skip is a pioneer in the area of technology and has led SCR from the transit and chain era, to the latest in GPS and computer technology.

Scot Rutherford grew up in the business and under the tutelage of his father. He brings the same ethics, professionalism, and hard work to Engineering that his father has built his surveying reputation on all of these years. SCR is excited about the doors that are opening every day in engineering and the projects they have completed and are currently engaged in.

Given our lifelong residency in our area, and all of us having raised our children in the area, we have shown a staying power, where many other firms have come and gone. Through recessions and booms, we have grown in civil, surveying, and planning and we are poised to continue this growth.
